Almost there

This note is mostly for me, because I have things I want to say, to write out, but not really to anyone in particular! This is about my weight loss journey.

Cut for length and pic! )

old entries

I just went back and read some old entries from when I first started journaling. I was really trying to lose weight...which was the entire point of this journal. I need to get back to that. I don't think I can use the whole "I'll try in January" thing as an excuse anymore. I need to try now, I need to try in January, I need to try continuously until I reach my goal weight and have developed healthy eating habits. I'm sure I'll fall off the wagon over Christmas, but there's really no reason not to get on the wagon for the next 10 days or so until then, that way when I fall, the wagon won't be so far away to get back on. Here are my current stats, since I haven't posted them in a while:
Height- 5'10
Weight- all time high of 215 lbs
GW 1- 199 lbs by April 3 (my birthday)
GW 2- 175 lbs (back into healthy range) by September 1st (back to school time frame)
UGW- 150-160 lbs (BMI of 21.5-23.0) by 2011
Method of losing- Count calories, P90X, balance diet, cut down on/out pop, shoot for losing 1 lb a week
Rewards- Each week that I stay under 1700 calories a day, I will take friday night off to enjoy food with my fiance (pizza, eat out, etc.)
For every 5 lbs lost, I will put away $5 for new clothes when I achieve my ultimate goal. The upside to this is that if I lose 7 lbs, regain 5, and relose those 5, I get $10 for losing the same 5 lbs.
Each month that I stay on track(measured by actual weight lost during the month), I will treat myself to new self esteem boosters (makeup, hair products, jewelry, etc) spending up to $20 per month.

I think that's all I got right now. And for those of you who also read the entry to my journal that came before this, yes, I am still buzzing a bit X)
Good night LJ, Good night FB, Good night Kitty, Good night Black One.

Difficulty finding a sports bra

I'm looking for a good sports bra specifically made with a small band size and large cup size. Has anyone with a similar problem found anything that works?

Right now, for high intensity activity, I wear the Enell bra, because it's the only thing that mashes my boobs down enough to prevent bounce, but the band HURTS because it's so tight, so I can only use it for a short time. I'm looking for something to use when I go to the gym for longer sessions.

The other ones I have fit in the cup, but are wayyyyy too loose in the band, so they end up not being supportive at all.

I wear a 30 or 32 DDD or E depending on the brand, and I'd like to spend less than $60 if at all possible. I'd strongly prefer to be able to try it on in a store first.

Some good weight loss articles

Still on that low Card-Diet
http://www.theness.com/neurologicablog/?p=1354
Discusses the atkins diet and how the stressing of one macronutrient does not effect weight loss, but rather the calories in versus calories out, plus the risks of eating high fat diets.

Lose those Holiday Pounds
http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/?p=2959
Discusses the Acai berry and why it does not promote weight loss (and in fact can make it worse)

Long story short, eating healthy and exercising is tried and true way to lose weight and keep it off. :)

I heard exercising on an empty stomach burns fat, is this true?

I am always feeling lazy and hungry when I wake up, especially during winter. How do you guys do it?

the great cake experiment

So, I asked if one can of diet soda could replace eggs, water, and oil in cake.

Well, let's find out.

zee results )

I would consider it a success. It didn't crumble, or taste funky. The texture was a little more spongy, but hey, it worked, that's all that matters :D

Guess that means that we can have our cake, and eat it too, which is perfect. I think each slice is something like four weight watchers points.

Does anyone have a flat stomach?

How did you get it?

+ I am trying to avoid diet sodas as much as I can, but if I had them in moderation, would that prevent me from getting a flat stomach?

What do you guys think?
